The National Debt/Spending

Our National Debt has reached a breath-taking $12 trillion dollars and is expected to nearly double in the next ten years.  The reason for our debt is unsustainable borrowing to pay for government programs.  Ronald Reagan once said ‘A government program is the closest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.”  So where do we go from here?

The Economy

When Barack Obama expressed that it was an emergency to pass the second stimulus bill, he stated one of the things it would do is hold unemployment under 8%.  And does it surprise us that on Barack's website, he discusses how hard he is working to get the economy back on track.  Since when did the government create jobs or create a market demand for goods?

Energy Policy - $7 Gasoline

Regardless of the energy source, the government wants to control your energy use!  Whether it is oil for the automobile or electricity for our homes, the current Congress is attempting to put legistlation in place to punish your energy use; this legislation is called 'Cap and Trade'.  It has more accurately been dubbed 'Cap and Tax'.  And the Obama Administration will need $7 dollar gasoline to achieve it's carbon cutting goals.

Health Care Reform

I have worked in the health care arena for over 15 years.  I have studied other models and there is no doubt we have the best system in the world.  In my time at the Texas Medical Center, I saw people coming from around the world to receive care right here in our country...and there is a reason for that.  Our biggest issue is addressing the inflationary costs in our system in order to ensure its affordability for generations to come.  Health care premiums in the year 2000 averaged almost $6,000 a year for a typical family.  By 2008, that number had risen to about $12,000.  So what steps can we take address the issues in our system?

Core American Principles

The March Towards Socialism
Washington D.C. has lost it's way.  The prevailing thought, even within many ranks of the Republican party, is that we can turn to government for the problems that we face.  Most of the time there is no consideration whether or not a plan may be constitutional or whether the government should play a role.

We can say 100% of the time there is no review on whether or not the programs that are implemented are working.  If a program does fail, the more the planners plan.  Goverment solutions turn into permanent programs that have no end and always grow.

While some Republicans fear being the party of 'NO', we must stand strong and show conviction for our traditions and our constitution.  We must turn back the liberal assault on American.  Stand with Matt to take back your country!
